Property Summary

Galtyha' is a much loved family home situated on the beautiful island of Eday.  Eday is one of the Orkney outer isles and is accessible from the Orkney mainland via a ferry which is operated by Orkney Ferries or plane which is operated by Loganair.

Eday is an island of farms, heathery hills and several sandy beaches and has a community of around 130 residents. There is a general shop, post office, primary school and a resident nurse practitioner.

Galtyha' is situated close to the ferry at Backaland and local amenities are close by.  Situated in a peaceful, elevated position with spectacular sea views. Galtyha' is a spacious 4 bedroom detached cottage with several large outbuildings and garden areas.  Thought to be around 140 years old Galtyha' was renovated in 1980 and then again in 2000 when all internal walls and floors where replaced and insulated, along with redecoration. It is thought that the extension was added on in 1993.

The property is a traditional stone built cottage with a large concrete block extension which was added in 1993. The property is all on one level with a stone wall around the front garden.  There is a private driveway with ample parking space and well maintained substantial sheds with power.
